Really? What does that look like?
By the time you read that quotation, Jesus has already offered several specifics; he casts a vision of how God's values are truly lived out among us. Matthew's Sermon on the Mount reveals this LAW OF LOVE by which Jesus' followers live. As we already noted from the previous section, none of us achieve this perfection. But in the mystery of God's grace and power, the Lord loves us, calls us, and empowers us. We walk closely with him; we learn to walk alongside each other, our neighbor, even our enemy, in a new way. This Sunday, we receive three more examples.
